Stunning Views Across
the
Val di Chiana to Lake Trasimeno Views over the Val di Chiana and Cortona's historic rooftops from the shuttered widows of this fully heated house, only a very short, steep walk from the Piazza Repubblica, Via Nazionale and all the central aspects of Cortona that you would wish to be near but also very near one of the city gates which has Etruscan stone remains preserved. In this quiet yet central location you will receive superb hospitality from the family hosts and the local population. It's great for the family, and children are very welcome. We have stayed here in summer and at Christmas and its a very good way to live as the Tuscans do, whilst having a complete change of environment and relaxing break. |

Stunning Views Across
theVal di Chiana to Lake Trasimeno From the location of these apartments, perched high on the side of a Tuscan hill, just above the ancient city wall of Cortona, you can see, from both the sun-terrace and shuttered windows, a stunning panoramic view of the Val di Chiana that is unrivalled in most other apartments in the town. As Cortona is a maze of narrow via (streets) and vicoli (lanes), with a constant buzz from friendly chatting Cortonese, an intense magical atmosphere hovers amongst the historic buildings The only hint of the landscape beyond, is the occasional peep through through the buildings, down a steep Vicolo. As though to provide an invigorating contrast to the small town buzz, a surprising panorama is spread out before you from the location of the apartments, across the city wall's high westerly viewpoint is a wide stretch of deep valley that starts at Arezzo city in the north, to Lake Trasimeno, on the Umbrian border, in the south. The
landscape gives a patchwork effect of what are agricultural
based hamlets, busy distant towns, long straight
Roman roads and train tracks
connecting Firenze (Florence) with Roma and many spectacular shows,
including sky-reaching firework displays at New year. The apartments
snuggle
up to the celestial maze of winding vicoli and
buzzing piazzas to the one side and to the other this stunning overview which pleases
the eye and completes the feeling that you are on the top of the
world and maybe you might have stumbled on a Tuscan heaven
on earth.
